5 Science and Technology Parks on the Way

The Government of Lithuania has recently confirmed the activity program of the first science and technology park (STP) in Lithuania, two programs of another four STPs are also on their way, and EUR 2 billion STPs development budget is under consideration.

The first Lithuanian STP will be established and developed at Klaipėda University, located in Lithuania‘s portcity Klaipėda, and will specialize in the development of marine business, natural resources, environmental protection and tourism.

Also, four STPs will be developed in the capital Vilnius and the industrial centre Kaunas. More than EUR 8 million have already been invested into the development of Sunrise Valley, which will be launched in September in Vilnius, and additional EUR 17 million are planned for the further development of the 62 hectares STP territory.

High-tech companies will soon be invited to move into the first Sunrise Valley building offering a modern space of 6300 sq. meters. Also, a business incubator is now under construction for starting businesses, which will be welcome to move in on favourable terms.

The Government of Lithuania holds a strong belief that the new STPs in Lithuania will serve as a convenient space for business enterprises, scientists and students to combine their knowledge, experience and ideas, and will lead to the development of innovations as well as initiation and implementation of numerous business projects.
