The 14th Baltic Financial Forum
On September 29-30, 2008 the 14th Baltic Financial Forum (the annual conference ‘Banks and Finance in the Baltics’), that is one of the most important events of economy life of Latvia and the Baltic states, is going to take place.
Traditionally, during the Forum the Ministers of Finance, Governors of the National Banks, legislators and regulators discuss such issues as state budget, inflation, monetary policy and other subjects of the field. Business leaders, CEOs and CFOs of the major international and domestic companies also participate in the Forum. Financial services industry is being represented by banks, asset management, consulting, insurance, leasing and investment companies, as well as pension funds.
Over two days of the Forum, during the plenary sessions and parallel sections speakers and participants discuss the strategic issues that are related to the economies of the Baltic States, their development in the context of the EU, banking system and infrastructure development, investment promotion, Public Private Partnership, financial market supervision and regulation. Professionally advanced parallel sessions devoted to corporate finance, finance management, accounting and audit, asset management and real estate market development are also included in the Forum programme.
The topics of the professional oriented parallel sessions offered by the Programme are related to corporate finance, finance management, accountancy and auditing process, asset protection, development of real estate market and IT&T sector.
The organizers of the Forum are the Finance Ministry of the Republic of Latvia, Association of Latvian Commercial Banks, Lithuanian and Estonian bank associations, Latvian Business School, Economists Association 2010.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee is the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Latvia Atis Slakteris.
