
As much as 100 people will be employed by the State Street Corporation in Krakow
The American company plans to create nearly a thousand jobs for economic and finance specialists at the newly established operating centre in the capital of the Małopolska region.
– Within 3 years we want to build up a strong team and develop the infrastructure in Krakow – Timothy Caverly, the deputy president of the State Street Corporation, said during the press conference.
The Krakow’s centre will be dealing with accountancy services for institutional investors from all over Europe. It will cooperate with similar company divisions located in Ireland, Luxemburg and Germany. The decision on setting up a centre in Krakow results from the American strategy of the company, which plans to increase the quota of incomes obtained outside of the USA from 41% to 50% within the next few years.
Caverly also mentioned, Krakow was chosen from amongst 20 other European locations. A well educated workforce and good office and communication infrastructure were the reason for the choice. So far, the corporation has hired 150 employees in Krakow. The American firm will lease a newly-built office of around 11 thousand square meters near Podgorska St. in the vicinity of the Kazimierz shopping mall.
The 30 million EUR building is being built by the developer – Globe Trade Centre SA (GTC). The State Street operates in 26 countries world-wide, with more than 27 000 of employees, more than 6 000 thereof in Europe. The value of the assets entrusted to the firm by investors is 15 billion dollars. (PAP)
