Two Lithuanian Companies Expand to Finland and China

Lithuanian Development Agency informed that two prominent Lithuanian companies – biotech manufacturer “Fermentas“and IT consultant “ERP“has recently expanded their activities into foreign markets. “Fermentas“has opened a representative office in China, and “ERP“has established a representation in Finland.

“Fermentas” www.fermentas.lt, which is among the top five manufacturers in the world along with the US corporations Invitrogen Corporation, New England Biolabs and Promega Corporation and F. Hoffmann-La Roche (Switzerland), as regards a specific niche of production of tools for molecular biology and gene engineering, opened a representation “Fermentas China” in Shendzen city, Chinese biotech industry and scientific research centre, located near Honk Kong.

Sales of “Fermentas” products in China grew 15% and made up 7% of all Lithuanian exports to China in 2007. Today “Fermentas” supplies more than 700 different biotech products to the Chinese market.

Also, one of the biggest IT companies in Lithuania “ERP” www.erp.eu, which also operates in other Baltic States, Poland, Ukraine, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Great Britain, established a representative company “ERP Nordic” in Finland. Based in Finland, ERP will provide IT consultations not only for Finish customers, but also for other Scandinavian countries’ companies.
